Do you need a marriage alignment?
When challenges come in your marriage, what efforts do you use to deal with them? Have you ever considered evaluating those efforts? Are you aligned with each other and with God’s Word?
Dr. Tony Evans offers insights about why it is important to address marital challenges; strengthen certain areas of your marriage; and evaluate your efforts, making sure they are appropriate for the challenges you’re facing.

Suggested Read: “Marriage Matters”
Marriages today are deteriorating at such a high rate not because we no longer get along, but because we have lost sight of the purpose and prosperity of the marriage covenant. Marriage Matters examines the nature of the covenant, or agreement, we enter into on our wedding day.
In his approachable style, Evans looks to the Scriptures to define three key aspects of the marriage covenant:
- Origin (who came up with it?)
- Order (what’s the chain of command?)
- Operation (how is it to function?)
As Dr. Evans explains in the opening pages: “Most people today view marriage as a means of looking for love, happiness and fulfillment. Make no mistake about it, those things are important. Those things are critical. They are just not the most critical.”
What is the most critical? That you understand God’s intentions for marriage. “Marriage is a covenantal union designed to strengthen the capability of each partner to carry out the plan of God in their lives.”

THINKING ABOUT DIVORCE?
Did you know that the average cost of divorce in America today is $30,000[1]? Who can afford that expense in today’s economy? And the future financial picture can look even uglier than the divorce itself.
“Costs” of divorce are not limited to money. Other costs in this life-altering process include, but are not limited to:
- Emotional toll
- Loss of time invested
- Immediate and long-term financial effects
- Loss of companionship
- Loss of practical help
- Emotional and psychological impact on children
From many different angles, the various costs are huge.
Marriage, Inc. offers you an alternative –a way to save money AND your marriage! Partnering with local marriage counseling professionals, we are offering counseling services at a rate significantly discounted from normal fee plans: six one-hour counseling sessions at $50 per session for a total of $300.
Certainly, a $300 investment in the possible change of a lifetime is worth your investment of both time and money.
Do the math: $300 vs. $30,000. Consider marriage counseling. This may be one of the best investments you will ever make.

WHEN DATE NIGHT IS OVER …
Question: What’s next? Answer: Life.
The Marriage Inc. Celebration of Marriage (Date Night) is a wonderful event for giving marriages a “shot in the arm.” Helping couples identify strengths and challenges in their marriages it what it’s all about.
Although Date Night is a powerful resource, it takes far more than a one-night event to effectively strengthen marriages. So, we invite you to:
Enroll in a Follow-up Session
Marriage Inc. has partnered with local churches to offer follow-up sessions to Date Night (throughout calendar year 2012). Click on the EVENTS tab on the www.marriageinc.org home page to find out more about upcoming sessions.
Date Night is a joyous, fun and festive event, but the real art of strengthening your marriage requires a more personal review and commitment. Understanding your strengths and challenges, and learning about the tools and resources available to you, are necessary components in making your marriage stronger. In a small group setting, share and discuss these topics with couples just like you.
Review the upcoming sessions and register for one or more today. Your marriage is worth it!
