Reasons for Dating – Family Views
When you’re going out on a first date with a possible Mr. or Miss. Right, having a child together is probably the last thing on your mind. However, one of your dating objectives should be to understand your partner’s ideas about family life.
Being on the same page with all the aspects of this issue is vital. It might be easy to end the conversation after learning whether or not your partner wants to have children, but knowing how many children your partner wants and how he or she would like to raise them is also necessary to discover.
Would he like to move to the suburbs and buy a house or stay in the city? Does she want to stay at home or keep working after children are born?
It’s also important to ask yourself, “Is this the person I want parenting my children?” He may seem to have fun with children, but does he have the kind of character that would make a good dad? She may be nurturing, but will she take the time to invest in our children? And even greater consideration is required if either of you will be marrying into a step-parent role.
